Description and habitats

Wet acidic pasture with scrub and scattered trees.

Directions

Just south of Tumble on the A476 look for a minor road on the left (if coming from Llanelli) opposite Mynydd Mawr Hospital. Follow that road to the bottom of the slope where there is parking for one car. Do not obstruct the field gate. There is a bus service to Mynydd Mawr Hospital (service 128, Llanelli to Ammanford).

Facilities for visitors

Nearest facilities in Tumble. Disabled people could bird this site from a car.

Tips for birding the site

Walk further along the road from the parking place. There are unobstructed views of Gweunydd Cochion from the road. Many small fir trees have died and are used as song-posts by Tree Pipits and perhaps as perches by shrikes. A telescope is useful at this site.
