SN40-01- Description and habitatsConiferous woodland, some parts with deciduous species intermixed. Grassland. A “conservation area” consisting of two shallow pools with some reedbed. DirectionsSignposted from the A484 west of Burry Port. Ample car parking (car park number 1 is the most convenient). Between October and March, the parking fee is reduced and coins are required to operate the automatic barrier. There is no charge for admission to the park. The bus stop for the park is located 2 km from the entrance and is served by First Cymru service X12. Tips for birding the siteFrom car park 1, take the path which leads to the “conservation area” where there are two shallow pools with bird hides. From this point, there are a variety of way-marked trails through Pembrey Forest. Best seasonsAll year but of greatest interest in winter.
