Continue to the next road junction in the village of Cwmbach where there are several options for parking. Bus service from Llanelli to Cwmbach (first Cymru service 197).

Facilities for visitors

Pub in Cwmbach. The site is not suitable for disabled birders.

Tips for birding the site

A path into the lower wood starts about 150 yards (150 m) east of the road junction in Cwmbach. The woods are private but responsible naturalists are tolerated. Follow the path alongside the Dulais river. Please respect the privacy of the owners by avoiding the immediate environs of the castle. There are a number of informal entrances to the higher part of the wood which can be reached by walking up the road which bisects the woods. There is a small heronry.
